Morris County is one of the most affluent counties in the nation according to the 1990 census. Many of the national and international corporations locate their headquarter offices in the county. Interstates 80 and 287, and State Highways 46, 10, 202, and 24 are all very accessible from this area. Public transportation is available from most towns. Morris County has very impressive history and offers three National Parks honoring Revolutionary War sites. It is filled with many lakes, including the state's largest, Hopatcong, where one can find an array of activities including boating, fishing, and swimming. Warren County is a rural area in the northwestern corner of the state, and is filled with hidden valleys and rolling hills. It remains picturesque, even with the suburban and industrial development which has been increasingly moving westward across the state. Its close proximity to the Pennsylvania border, Warren County is well-located to both New York and Philadelphia, because of major highways such as Interstates 80 and 78 and Routes 22, 31, 46, 57, 94 and 519. Commuters to New York City have the option of both train and bus service from several of the communities.
There are several public recreation opportunities varying from canoeing down the Delaware to golf, hiking, and site seeing the abundant wildlife. The Delaware Water Gap is a National Park with camping facilities and swimming beaches at several locations along the river. Residents and visitors can rent canoes, tubes and rafts for river riding through the Gap, and spelunkers enjoy caving at some of the numerous caves. The state of New Jersey also maintains camping sites and other recreational facilities at Jenny Jump State Forest and Worthington State Forest. Fishing is popular along several rivers, and the state maintains a hatchery in the county.
Medical facilities are based in Hackettstown and Phillipsburg, with a satellite facility in Washington. Education is a high priority among the residents, with both excellent public and private schools including Blair Academy in Blairstown.
